Is Launch a fit?

Best for newly formed or early-stage service businesses with about $100,000 or less in annual revenue, approximately 50 or fewer monthly transactions, one primary bank account, and one business credit card.

Launch is for a single entity with minimal receivables and payables, no inventory, no complex payroll, and no complex revenue recognition. Dormie confirms fit during discovery and onboarding; forming a new LLC does not automatically qualify a business.

Starting with Dormie helps establish clean books from day one and can reduce later catch-up work. Initial accounting setup covers accounting configuration, a starter chart of accounts, bank/account configuration, and reporting setup after your business is formed. It does not include entity formation, legal services, EIN preparation, tax election advice, or tax preparation.

Launch includes monthly categorization, reconciliation and close for the agreed bank and credit-card accounts, standard financial statements, clean year-end books for your tax preparer, and basic asynchronous accounting support. Existing transactions, unreconciled activity, prior balances, or records needing migration may require separately scoped catch-up work. Any additional fee is quoted and agreed before that work begins. Support is not unlimited.

As volume, complexity, or service needs grow beyond Launch, we discuss the appropriate service level together. Starter provides broader monthly accounting without Launch’s narrow eligibility limits.

Communication and meetings

Launch is primarily digital, with no standing financial review meeting. Starter’s quarterly check-in covers results and accounting questions. Accounting’s monthly check-in keeps the accounting work and reporting on track.

Controller includes a monthly review of financial performance, cash, budget comparisons where applicable, accounting issues, processes, and management questions. Controller + FP&A includes a monthly planning and review meeting, with forecasting, performance analysis, and decision support tailored to the engagement.

Communication needed to complete the accounting continues between meetings. Additional meetings or advisory work outside the agreed cadence may be separately scoped.

Timing and scope details

Accounting and reporting follow a monthly schedule once required records are received. Forecasts and other updates follow an agreed schedule. Planning depends on timely operating assumptions and your decisions.

Starter excludes historical cleanup and Controller analysis. Payroll processing and bill payment or fund movement require separate engagements and explicit agreement. Payables and receivables oversight may include aging review and follow up, but does not automatically authorize releasing payments or collecting funds.

You retain spending, hiring, borrowing, and payment decisions. Dormie does not prepare tax returns. Legal, audit, assurance, and investment advice are outside scope.

A conversation about the numbers.

What changed? How does cash look? What needs attention? Reporting discussions cover the questions relevant to your agreed services.
