In match play, dormie traditionally means you’re ahead by the same number of holes that remain. Three up with three to play, for example. It’s a position of strength, and you know where you stand.

That’s what drew me to the name. Good accounting should give you a reliable picture of the business so you know where you stand and can make better decisions about what comes next.

I’ve spent my career in accounting and finance, working with growing businesses and leading accounting teams. My work has included monthly close and financial reporting, cash management, forecasting, and audits, along with the everyday accounting questions that come up when running a business.

I’ve also spent time helping management understand the reports and work through what the numbers mean. Getting the books right matters, but handing someone a report doesn’t finish the job.

I started Dormie because I wanted to work directly with business owners on that. Maybe you just need help keeping the books current today. As the business grows, you may need more help with reporting, forecasting, or financial decisions. I want Dormie to be able to grow with you as those needs change.

I think accounting firms can make better use of technology. I’m building Dormie’s systems to reduce repetitive work and make it easier to spot items that need attention. Automation and AI-assisted tools can help with that.

The work still needs accounting judgment, review, and controls. Technology doesn’t take responsibility for the books. I do.
